A mother in Texas gave birth to a baby boy who weighs more than 16 pounds!
'They call him The Moose': 16lb 1oz boy could be biggest ever born in Texas For the Brown family his arrival was big news…really big news. But the birth of JaMichael Brown, who weighed a whopping 16lbs 1oz – just over a stone – may also be big news for Texas. He's certainly the biggest baby to have been born in Longview hospital, but officials now believe he may be the largest in the state too. His father, Michael Brown, looked rather shell-shocked as revealed his son was now known around the hospital as 'The Moose.' '(The Dr) told us he was going be about 12lbs, but when he pulled him out it was as different story,' Mr Brown said. His exhausted mother, Janet Johnson, had been booked in for a Caesarean section on Friday morning. She knew JaMichael was going to be a big baby, but had never imagined he would weigh four pounds more than doctors had predicted. He was also 24" long, his head measured 15" and chest 17" – those are measurements of the average three to six-month-old. 'We're just amazed,' Ms Johnson told the News-Journal. 'I can't believe he's that big. A lot of the baby clothes we bought for him will have to be returned. They're already too small for him to wear.' Not-so-little JaMichael also came out with a full head of hair and the hospital did not have diapers big enough to fit him. Mr Brown said he had high hopes his son would become a footballer. Perfect Air One
Warning: This will be a pregnancy story. The salty air blew through the strands of blonde hair that loosely hung from the bun at the top of my head. I took in a deep breath of the ocean smell and smiled. My toes dug into the sand leaving 5 little dots. I pulled out my phone to see no messages. How pathetic? I grabbed some sand and tossed it out in front of me. I would've gone in the water, but it's not worth it anymore. I stood up and began back to my purple bike that was placed against a wooden post outside the entrance to the shore. I hopped onto the seat and pushed my flip flops against the pedals. The morning air was nice. I rode my bike down the block and got out right before the diner. I locked my bike against the bike rack before strolling into the diner. The bell jingled as I pushed open the door. "Hey Hun," Charlotte said as I sat down in my usual booth and cranked open the menu. "Hey Char," I replied. "What would you like?" she asked. I dug my front teeth into my bottom lip as I looked over the food. "The usual egg, cheese, and taylor ham," I replied. (a/n For those of you who do not live in New Jersey. Taylor Ham is not really ham. Its kinda like Canadian bacon, but different. You can't find it anywhere else, but in Jersey. It is the BEST thing on earth! aking antidepressant medication during pregnancy may moderately increase the risk of having a child with autism spectrum disorder, according to research published in the Archives of General Psychiatry. It is possible to be depressed while pregnant. Some symptoms include: • Depressed mood or extreme sadness • Crying spells for no apparent reason • Feelings of guilt or inadequacy Researchers from Kaiser Permanente Northern California used medical records to identify nearly 300 children with autism spectrum disorder and over 1500 children without the condition. The records also indicated whether the children's mothers had been taking antidepressant medication while pregnant. The medical records indicated that 6.7% of the children with autism had mothers who took antidepressants while pregnant, compared with only 3.3% of the children without autism. After taking into account maternal health and birth factors, having a mother who took selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant in the year before birth was associated with a twofold risk of developing autism spectrum disorder. SSRI antidepressants include the popular drugs Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft. The association between SSRI use and autism was particularly strong if the drugs were taken during the first trimester of pregnancy. On the other hand, there was no link between a history of treatment for mental illness other than use of SSRI antidepressants and the risk of having an autistic child. While today's <b>…</b>
